PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo argued with an arena worker and threw a ladder away from a basket, sending him tipping over as he tried to shoot free throws after the Bucks’ 110-102 loss to Philadelphia on Friday night.
After going 4-for-15 from the line, Antetokounmpo returned to the ground at the Wells Fargo Center several minutes after the game was over to shoot free throws with a small number of fans still in the building.
Antetokounmpo then missed his first five foul shots in post-match practice. During a break in filming for the two-time NBA MVP, arena workers moved onto the field for their usual post-game activities.
One of the workers set up a 12-foot ladder next to the basket where Antetokounmpo was shooting. Antetokounmpo approached the ladder and pushed it aside.
The employee put it back in place, much to Antetokounmpo’s chagrin. He approached the staff member, had a quick and heated verbal exchange, then shoved the ladder away again, sending him crashing to the floor.
Word spread quickly through the Wells Fargo Center and 76ers backup center Montrezl Harrell, who was still on the other end of the field talking to a group of individuals, including 76ers staff members. , started walking towards Antetokounmpo, yelling at him for abusing the arena. employee.
Harrell never made it past half the field, as team employees managed to turn him around and head for the Philadelphia locker room.
