Cy-Fair ISD athletes have signed or celebrated signing their National Letter of Intent to play as a collegiate during the first period of National Signing Day, the district said in a Dec. 20 press release.

Football’s first signing period was Dec. 15-17, allowing three-day athletes to sign their Letters of Intent with Division I programs. Mid-year junior college transfers have until January 15 to sign with the division. Programs I and II.

Football’s regular signing period begins on February 2, the national signing day, and ends on April 1 for the division. I and August 1 for Div. II.

The first period of basketball signing for the Div. I ran from November 10th to 17th while the regular period will be from April 13th to May 18th. All other Divisions I and II sports can sign from November 10, 2021 to August 1, 2022.

Bridgeland senior quarterback Conner Weigman was one of the most notable in the Houston area to sign on day one of football’s first period. He was joined by two teammates in a ceremony on campus.

Weigman was recently named Offensive Player of the Year at the Touchdown Club of Houston’s 42nd Annual UIL High School Awards Dinner on December 8 at the Bayou City Event Center.

Weigman was named District 16-6A Offensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row and won the District 14-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year award in 2019. He was also recognized as the stoppage. -court of the All-District first team last season.

After an undefeated District Championship, Weigman and the Bears (11-3, 5-2) placed third in the district and finished the season as regional finalists. This season, the five-star prospect has thrown for 2,588 yards with 29 touchdowns and rushed for 754 yards on 106 attempts with nine touchdowns and has three catches for 62 yards with two touchdowns.

Overall, Weigman finished with 8,580 passing yards with 96 touchdowns and 1,955 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in three years. He plans to graduate early and go to Texas A&M in January.
