SANTA MONICA, Calif .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) –Progressive IMS outdoors, the nation’s largest motorcycle tour, successfully completed three events along the 2021 tour, northern California, Chicago, and Pennsylvania, with five markets ahead. Throughout the three events, tens of thousands of experienced and new riders took part in IMS’s vast assortment of experiences, including on-road and off-road demonstration programs, shopping in The Marketplace and The Range, the discovery of new brands, extended Learn To Ride experiences, listening to the music of local artists and reconnecting with other enthusiasts.

In December 2020, IMS revealed the Tour’s exciting refresh from an indoor convention setting to outdoor venues that broaden the consumer experience, allowing attendees to fully immerse themselves with all-new models and engage with products that complement the motorcycle lifestyle. “The transition to an experience-driven series of events has been very well received by the attendee and exhibitor community, a model that everyone is excited to continue,” said Tracy Harris, Senior Vice President of Progressive IMS Outdoors. “This new and improved layout reflects the powersports lifestyle by providing a fun environment for enthusiasts to reconnect after so many months apart and demonstrate product of interest, from all-wheelers on and off-road to the latest. electric bikes on the market. ”

One of the strengths of this year’s Tour is building a solid base of new riders through more learning to ride opportunities that will become the next generation of buyers. Almost half of the participants surveyed in Chicago were either potential cyclists who plan to start riding in the next 12 months or new cyclists. IMS’s transition to a series of experiential events welcomes a handful of entry points into the motorcycle world through:

  • Bigger opportunity for new riders who want to perfect their riding skills via Discover The Ride and the MICs Ride with us program offering hundreds of new runners

Another IMS participant shared, “Loved the learning to drive area. The people and the experience were amazing! I ride with my husband, but I never rode alone because I didn’t want to spend $ 300 to take a class and of course not like it or not. This quick course prompted me to sign up for a motorcycle course. Thank you very much, what a great experience! ”

Harris continued, “We have no plans to return to the indoor event series. Our mission is to support the growth of the industry, connect enthusiasts with the brands they love and provide a experience that goes far beyond just finding new models. and the summer months allow that level of engagement.
