VIRGINIA, MN — Monday night was a celebration on the Iron Chain as the Iron Trail Motors event center officially opened to the public.
The $ 38 million facility will be used for concerts, trade shows and other events.
It is also home to two state-of-the-art hockey arenas.
At 120 thousand square feet, the facility will bring large companies to the lineup.

“This building has the potential to have a huge economic impact on the entire iron chain,” said Brian Silber, director of parks and recreation for the city of Virginia.
A huge impact that was only made possible by community tax dollars after the city of Virginia approved a sales tax referendum in 2018.
Additional funding for the project came from IRRRB and State of Minnesota bond dollars.
“It’s a long time coming. We finally got this through, and it really was the community that built this,” Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe said.
But just as a community evolves, so will the space that will be used for generations to come.
“We are not finished yet. So when you walk into this facility today and come back next month, you will notice that things have changed. This facility has the capacity to grow with our community,” said Silber.
City leaders and organizers agree that Monday’s ribbon cutting was just a small preview of what was to come in Virginia.
“There were hundreds of people here, and it shows the investment they made. So thank you to the community for what they have done. It is a house that the community has built, ”said Mayor Cuffe.
Events at the new center will take place throughout the week.
