Jamie Cox is an experienced sports tourism industry leader with Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), most recently serving as General Manager of Publix Sports Park in Panama City Beach, Florida. Before his arrival in Panama City BeachCox served as director of sports and events for the Hoover Metropolitan Complex in Hoover, Ala. During Cox’s tenure, both sports venues achieved national and regional recognition for sporting events and the positive economic impact these events brought to their respective communities.
Under his leadership, both sites experienced growth. They have expanded their event schedule to include elite level competitions ranging from indoor sports ranging from basketball, volleyball, cheerleading and pickleball to outdoor sports like baseball, softball, football and soccer . Cox has been instrumental in leading business development efforts that have resulted in over $50 million in visitor spending in the Hoover and Panama City Beach areas. Cox has worked with and recruited high-profile events such as the Adidas Gauntlet Summer Basketball Championships, Gulf South NCAA DII Volleyball Crossover Event, NJCAA College Baseball Classic, Tournaments and Showcases of Perfect Game baseball, the Shock Doctor 7on7 Football Legends Showcase, and the SEC Baseball Tournament.

Work on Legends Event Center is progressing, with the facility nearing closure. When completed, the facility will include a large indoor court/event space for 16 volleyball courts and eight basketball courts. These fields can be used for a variety of activities, including gymnastics and wrestling, meetings, pickleball tournaments, archery and cheerleading competitions, boxing, and football matches. It can also host dance and martial arts competitions, online gaming conventions, trade shows, markets, and other special events. The facility will include concessions, an arcade, party rooms, an e-sports hall, turf space, and flexible space for smaller events.
The ultimate goal of the center is to fill a need that is missing in the community – to create a one-of-a-kind place unmatched anywhere nearby and to increase tourism in bryan. The facility will be available to residents at designated times to use the amenities, party hall, and flexible space rentals.
