NASHUA – The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Edward John “Ed” Lecius, was selected as House Citizen of the Year 2021. Lecius will be honored at the 93rd Annual Chamber Gala on Wednesday, November 10 at the Event Center – Courtyard by Marriott in Nashua.

Organized annually by the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, Lecius was selected by a committee of past recipients of Citizen of the Year for his extensive community leadership and continued dedication to improving Nashua.

Lecius is a native and longtime resident of Greater Nashua and began his career at WSMN radio station. In 1983, Lecius left radio to work for Governor John H. Sununu. He then served in the administration of President George HW Bush.

Upon his return to Nashua, Lecius became President and CEO of WMVU (formerly WOTW and now WGHM). When the station was sold in 1997, Lecius joined the staff of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce as the director of programs until he joined the Nashua Police Department in 2000 as the police coordinator. community. He retired in 2020.

Lecius has received numerous awards and distinctions from the city of Nashua. For many years, Lecius has been active in the city of Nashua, as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for 13 years; chairman of the police commission for five years; and 20 years as a community policing coordinator for the city of Nashua. Lecius has also been an active member of the Nashua Lions Club for 50 years.

Currently, Lecius is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Triangle Credit Union, and Governor-appointed Chris Sununu also sits on the NH Police Standards and Training Council.
