Canastota, NY — More than a dozen boxers who will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday were in attendance Friday for the casting event held on the grounds of the museum.

A large crowd of fans were on hand to watch plaster casts being made from the fighters’ fists. The first casting has been part of the annual Hall of Fame induction weekend since the first induction in 1990.

Sunday’s induction ceremony will be the first to feature female fighters among the inductees, and several of them had impressions of their fists on Friday, including Barbara Buttrick, 92, the oldest of the inductees.

Events taking place today include an autograph and boxing card show and the Banquet of Champions. Sunday, the parade of champions and the induction ceremony are on the program.
