The Hospice of Texarkana “Bringing the Bling Back” at its annual “Jeans & Bling” fundraiser, scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.

After two years of following Covid-19 safety protocols, the nonprofit hospice agency will once again be able to bring back the bling in its popular event which features a celebrity lip-sync contest, music and live dancing, a barbecue buffet, a raffle and a silent auction. . “We’re so excited to bring the ‘Bling’ back after two years of social distancing and look forward to the fun lip-syncing contest and dancing with our supporters again! We are grateful for the community support for this non-profit agency and our only fundraising event for our hospital care center, the only one of its kind within a 75 mile radius, said Cindy Marsh, Executive Director.

The 13th annual event will be hosted by Kicker 102.5 Deejay Mario Garcia, along with the crowd-favorite Lip Sync contest which will feature these local celebrities: Cathy Van Herpen; Erica Cain; and Amy C. The best charity event nominated 9 times is popular for its casual “Western Chic” dress code for both men and women. “Men like to break out their jeans or khakis, shirts and hats, and women like to dress up in jeans, skirts or cute dresses with heels or boots with their blingy jewelry. After all, we are in Texas,” said Leigh Davis, director of development and public relations.

The fun event is sponsored and made possible in part by KKYR, BWI, Inc., the Patterson Troike Foundation, Texarkana National Storage & Shipping, Wholesale Electric Supply, and the Yates Foundation.

Tickets to the event, pre-voting for Celebrity Lip Sync nominees, and special raffle tickets are all available at Funds raised from the event will support the Hospice of Texarkana Hospital Care Center, which is essentially an intensive care unit for inpatients.
