A new GamesBeat event is just around the corner! Learn more about what comes next.

In February, Zynga revealed Star Wars: Hunters with a trailer during a Nintendo Direct presentation. This quick look didn’t reveal many details about the project, so fans had to wait until today to find out more about what Hunters really is. While Zynga has another cinematic trailer, it has also shared screenshots as well as information on how the game will play when it launches on Switch and mobile in 2022.

Star Wars: Hunters is an arena battle that pits teams of villains against each other sometime after the events of Return of the Jedi. Playable characters include a “dark side warrior” named Rieve as well as a Mandalorian named Aran Tal. You can preview the roster in the trailer above.

As for how the game plays out, Zynga showed a behind-the-back perspective with characters like a lightsaber fight on a snow level with a lot of verticality. Other characters have ranged weapons, and you can probably expect the Wookiee to have enough strength to rip the arms out of their sockets.

“Today’s reveal gives viewers their first glimpse of the Arena, a competitive stadium for spectators attracting hunters from the far reaches of the galaxy to seek their fortunes,” said Bernard Kim, Zynga Publishing Director. . “Giving a brief glimpse into the high-stakes, team-up action of the arena, this trailer features some of the dynamic Star Wars galaxy-inspired characters that fans will experience in the game.”
