CORBIN – Corbin Arena announced Monday morning that World Wrestling Entertainment will be returning to Corbin Arena in January with a live WWE SuperShow event.
The first time WWE appeared at Corbin Arena was in 2018.
In a previous interview with The Times-Tribune, Corbin Arena Director Kristi Balla said planning for WWE to come to the arena was something she had been working on since taking over. his duties as Managing Director and that in January the professional wrestling company will make its fourth appearance at the Arena since that first show in 2018.
âIt was something that I wholeheartedly believed had to happen here,â she said. âConnections always play a role and I give a helping hand to a WWE Superstar who helped me find who I needed to start the conversation. He had my back on this one and I’m eternally grateful. He gave me a thumbs up and I kept pissing them off until they said yes.
WWE made a stop at the Arena the following year, in 2019, and again in 2020. Last year, the town of Corbin even changed its name to “King Corbin” for a day as the wrestler Superstar King Corbin and WWE have launched a campaign to have the town been renamed, receiving national attention and helping to promote the town of Corbin to wrestling fans across the country.
The WWE SuperShow returns to Corbin Arena on Saturday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Originally, WWE Live was scheduled to tour Canada by this date, but the Jan. 22 show at the Brandt Center in Regina, SK, Canada was postponed and has been rescheduled for October, according to the WWE website. .
Superstars featured for the upcoming show will include Big E, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks and Drew McIntyre, according to their website. Although the website noted that the talent featured is subject to change.
